A Year of Art 2011

I wanted to do one of these so I could look back what I've done. From the looks of things, everythings happened in just 1 year. Feels longer if you ask me.

2011 has mostly been a year for development for me. I've finally settled on my own individual drawing style and I've managed to introduce my characters. So now everything is set up for 2012 and I've got a feeling that it's gonna be a good year.

So lets have a look back at what I've done.

JANUARY:-
This was back when I was using a different drawing style and Photshop didn't exist for me, I was still using Microsoft Paint (Good grief). My drawing ability wasn't great but I got by, using old fasioned felt tip pens for colour and such.
I was mostly into drawing my newly met friends at collegel, if I was to do another one now it would look really different.

FEBRUARY:-
This was my first ever ever ever picture using Photoshop. Kirsty (aka: Meachulin) had given me it and I was all too eager to try it out. As you can see it's pretty rough but I thought it looked good at the time. It's just cringe worthy now.

MARCH:-
I was still introducing my characters at this point and still experimenting with Photoshop. I'd improved a bit. My characters were looking a bit different back then, a bit immature. They sure as heck look better now

APRIL:-
Easter time. I'd gotten good at using photoshop around then so I thought it best to bang out an easter picture and I'm still happy with the results.

MAY:-
By this time I finally developed my own style so everything was going great. It was also time for Loz's (aka: Loza5000) driving test and it just so happened to be Friday the 13th. The picture topic was her idea so half the credit goes to her. But the other half goes to me cos I can draw elephants.

JUNE:-
I'm a gaming freak, I love video games and I'd recently played Zelda: Twilight Princess at my friend Isaacs house. It suddenly reminded me of that so annoying little pixie Navi. But it also gave me a good idea for a pic. I was trying out some new shading techniques and photoshop effects with this one but it worked.
Out of all the pictures I did in 2011, this one was the most popular with DA, probably because most people like Zelda.

JULY:-
I was going back to drawing in my sketchbook at this point, my book was more or less empty. I was also trying to draw my characters with more detail, I dont think it worked cos I was trying a new technique with an old drawing style. The style hadn't changed because I started drawing the picture in April and finished it in July cos I'd forgotten about it.

AUGUST:-
This was me trying to draw my character Teal in Frank Millers black and white stlye which I took from Graphics class. I havn't done enough work with Teal and if I'm not careful he's gonna dissapear and never come back.

SEPTEMBER:-
Enter Jess and Errol.

OCTOBER:-
I didn't make any drawings in this month cos I was taken over by college work. I hope it never happens again.

NOVEMBER:-
This was my first ever drawing done using the new marker pens I got for my 18th birthday in October. I was introducing a new character 'Alexander' into the mix with this drawing.

DECEMBER:-
Ah this is one of my personal fav's. This picture is a re-vamped version of an old classic I drew back in 2010, it was quite popular with my college friends so I thought it best to redo it and boy look at the results.
